The taste of this healthy drink brings back memories of a cup of fragrant mulled wine on a frosty winter evening.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1. Currants can be used freshly frozen, and spices in ground form, roughly respecting the proportions. Send all ingredients (except sugar) to a saucepan, add water, bring to a boil and cook for no more than 5 minutes. Add sugar.
  2. 2. Crush the berries a little in a saucepan so that they give the maximum taste, bring to a boil again and turn off.
  3. 3. Strain the compote into a pitcher. You can drink it hot right away or wait until it cools down - it is very tasty in any form. If there is little sweetness, add honey to the almost cooled compote.
