Hawthorn compote is a frequent guest on our table, as we collect a lot of it, and we need to use it so that it does not remain until the new harvest.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1. We will wash the hawthorn thoroughly, and if two or three hawthorn leaves come across, do not throw them away - they are also useful.
  2. 2. We clean the apples. I like to eat them peeled from compote, you don't have to peel them. Finely cut.
  3. 3. We lower our fruits, and berries into the pan and pour two liters of water. Bring to a boil over medium heat and simmer for five minutes. We turn off the fire.
  4. 4. We put honey in a hot drink. We also add a tangerine peel and lemon zest. You can put cinnamon (half a teaspoon) for flavor. Close the pot with a lid and let it cool completely. You can strain and refrigerate. There is nothing better than making your own favorite drink and enjoying it afterward.
