Summer is coming, which means that we cannot do without kvass because kvass is often the basis of okroshka, holodeck, tyuri. I love kvass very much and in the summer I cook it all the time.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1. For kvass, we need oats in a shell, a handful of raisins, and sugar.
  2. 2. Wash the oats well and soak in warm water for 1 hour.
  3. 3. Pour warm boiled water into a three-liter jar, dissolve sugar in it, and add raisins and oats. Tie the neck of the jar with a cloth.
  4. 4. Leave in a warm place for 3-6 days. The time depends on the ambient temperature, on when the oats “wake up”. You will see bubbles, you will smell. Taste it, if it suits you, then drain the kvass through a sieve into a convenient bottle. Cool in the refrigerator.
  5. 5. For serving soft drinks, I freeze ice with different berries. Now I have cranberry ice. Add a few cubes to glasses with kvass.
  6. 6. Kvass is already self-sufficient, and you can drink it.
