Tea with zest is a drink that is relevant at any time of the year. In the summer it will help to refresh, and in the winter it will warm even in the most severe frost. Use your favorite fresh citrus to prepare the zest. Orange, lemon, lime, grapefruit - any fruit will do, because the peel of each of them contains essential oils that will give the drink a pronounced citrus taste and aroma.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1. Peel the selected fruit. For convenience, use a vegetable peeler or grater. Spread the resulting zest in one layer on a flat plate and send it to the microwave. It takes 1.5–2 minutes for the aromatic tea additive to dry. Store the dried zest in a glass container under a lid or in a natural linen bag.
  2. 2. Bring the water to a boil, then let it cool for 10 minutes. When brewing leaf tea, boiling water should not be steep. The optimum temperature is 90–92°C.
  3. 3. Put the tea, zest, and spices into a ceramic or fireproof glass teapot. Fill with hot water. Cover with a lid. Let the drink steep for 15 minutes.
