Juicy and incredibly soft and fluffy, this apple and oatmeal muffin is a delicious homemade cake that will delight the whole family. A cupcake based on applesauce and yogurt, with the addition of vanilla and cinnamon, is airy and fragrant.

  1. To make Apple Oatmeal Cake, prepare the ingredients you need.
  2. Applesauce can be used ready-made (store-bought) or you can make it yourself from stewed apples.
  3. Add oatmeal, salt, ground cinnamon and baking powder to the sifted wheat flour. Mix well.
  4. In a separate container, combine eggs, vegetable oil, yogurt, vanilla extract, applesauce. Add sugar and mix thoroughly until sugar dissolves.
  5. Combine the prepared mixture of dry and liquid components. Mix until you get a homogeneous thick dough without lumps.
  6. Line the pan with baking paper and brush the paper with a thin layer of vegetable oil. Non-stick paper does not need to be oiled.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
  8. Place the mold with the dough in the oven preheated to 180 degrees and bake the apple-oatmeal cake for 45-50 minutes. Check readiness by piercing the cake with a wooden skewer. The cake is ready when the skewer is clean with no dough particles. Remove the finished apple cake from the mold and cool.
  9. To make the frosting, combine 1 cup powdered sugar with ¼ cup applesauce and use a spoon to mash the mixture until it is smooth and even.
  10. Decorate the chilled cake with frosting and let it rest a little more so that the frosting lightly soaks the top of the cake. Applesauce-based sugar icing will not harden, but only slightly thicken and remain appetizingly moist and juicy.
