Greek Sunday Morning Pie with Dzatziki Sauce

This easy Greek shortbread cake is a great start to your Sunday afternoon for your family!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Defrost a layer of shortcrust pastry, roll it out. Gently distribute it around the edges of a removable baking dish, pre-oiled with vegetable oil.
  2. On top of the dough, lay out baking paper, on which, as a load, put peas or lentils (for even baking our base under the cake).
  3. Put to bake in an oven preheated to 200 degrees. Bake until tender for about 20-25 minutes.
  4. Cooking Dzadziki cream: mix Greek yogurt with finely chopped garlic cloves, peeled and grated 2 fresh cucumbers (drain the cucumber water), pepper, salt, add finely chopped dill and 2 tbsp. l. vegetable oil. Mix everything well.
  5. Remove the prepared cake base from the oven and cool. Remove the pea baking paper.

  7. Add diced ham to the prepared Dzatziki sauce. Pour our cream sauce into the prepared, cooled base sand mold.

  9. We take out our cake from the removable mold, and on top we decorate it with the remnants of ham cubes and cucumber cut into ribbons. The Greek cake with Dzatziki cream is ready!
